Streamer of the Month - December 2021 - xNocke

RD - Do you remember the first name you ever gave a Hero/Monster in a game? What was it?
My main character in Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1&2 (Gamecube, not Dreamcast) was named “Dude”. Super original lol the only other thing I can think of is my Shoryu in Neopets that I lovingly named skater76_3.

RD - What streamer did you watch the most before you started streaming? What game did they stream?
TaterTotTodd/SneakyToddler (if he’s still on Twitch it’s under a different name now) was a Summoners War streamer right around the time I started playing- late 2014/early 2015. Used to run these “pokeball raffles” and did a bunch of giveaways, also had some units I really wanted at the time.

RD - What is your favorite game to stream; and why did you choose it?
Summoners War is my favorite game to stream because I don’t have to take myself too seriously in it, but can still get advice from talented players. That allows me to just throw on auto-battle and play music or essentially make it a “just chatting” stream.

RD - Who or what got you into streaming video games? What would you say to them if you could?
I think watching Todd’s streams made me want to stream. It was a real “if he can do it, I can do it” type of feel. If I could say anything to him, I’d say thanks for the raffles (especially the ones I won) and I hope the game shop he bought turned out successful.

RD - Do you remember your 1st stream? How did it make you feel?
My first stream was December 17th 2016. I decided on a super niche game (Rogue Legacy) and realized very quickly that it wasn’t going to be the type of game to bring an audience. My best friend (Garthrex) was in chat with me pretty much the whole time, so I had some fun trying to figure out the best way to traverse the castle.

RD - What equipment are you looking forward to getting for your stream in the future?
If we’re talking realistic upgrades, I would say an adjustable desk with matching arm-mounted monitors. The tv I use as my center monitor is cool and all, but it could be utilized better.

RD - If you had any ability from (favorite streamed game) what would it be?
I haven’t streamed this game (yet), but my favorite nostalgia game is Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. If I had Geno’s arm that could switch between a variety of weapon attachments, that would be awesome.

RD - Has Streaming changed your life at all? How?
Oh it absolutely has, but anything could. Think Butterfly Effect style. If I didn’t stream, I wouldn’t have made the friends I made, gone to TwitchCon, and ultimately had a lot of the experiences I had after graduating college.

RD - Where did your streamer name originate from?
I’m basic… it’s just a play on my real name lmao

RD - What do you consider to be your career highlight?
I would say last year’s 24hr. streamiversary- it was one of the best feelings as a streamer to see so many of your friends come to support you and help make sure you don’t pass out. Hoping to do it again big this year!

RD - Any Shout-outs you would like to give?
Shout out to my mods: Garthrex, Maxtehpuker, Foible13, D34THW4LK3R, BIGBEACHBAWLS, vjiffy, seththesenpai, kizuna97, funsize and crashnebvla.

RD - What is an "inside joke" or "saying" you have with your community?
I think TM and “yuck” are probably the ones. TM’s kinda just a general online joke, but during my character creation for Phantasy Star Online 2 my inflection while talking about my character having a Donkey Kong mouth was pretty funny and stuck.

RD - When you have the choice in games, do you prefer acts of good or acts of chaos?
My character alignment in most games is “chaotic good,” so yes? Haha but generally the choices I make are either bending the rules to help someone, or selfish which I guess would be chaotic neutral.

RD - Have you ever beaten a game and were sad that you won’t get to play the characters anymore? Tell us more...
Most of the games I play are either MMO or they have great replay value, but a game I am sad I don’t get to experience again for the first time would have to be Children of Mana for the DS. I really liked the gems you used to customize your character’s stats- it reminded me of the Navi Customizer from Megaman Battle Network 3.

RD - What was the very first video game you ever played?
I have a vivid memory of being ~5 and playing Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES. Definitely wasn’t any good at that time though.

RD - What was the most Challenging thing about setting up your stream? What about the most fun thing?
I think both of those would be the audio settings- I still feel like I’m working on them honestly.

RD - How did you feel when you were asked to be the Rift Damage “Streamer of the Month”?
I felt excited, and extremely grateful for it to happen for the month of my 5 year streamiversary!

    RD - OBS or StreamLabs?
OBS for sure. I have the StreamElements plugin, but I don’t use it too thoroughly.

RD - How is playing video games different than streaming video games to you?
It’s different in that I don’t tend to just “play” video games anymore. If I’m playing something, I want to share it with the community.

RD - Would you stop playing video games for the rest of your life for $500,000?
Negative. Everyone has their price, but that ain’t it for me.

RD - Say something to your community.
Some of you guys have seen me change and grow as a person for 5 years now. I’m grateful especially to you, and everyone else for sticking by me while IRL had its way with me on more than one occasion. Thank you all so much- I plan to be around for a long time!
