When i got started streaming, i was using my Corsair HS35 headset and very happy. However, I saw that the more “professional” streamers were using fancy mics with a boom arm. When looking on sight after site and reading tons of reviews I landed on the HyperX Quadcast mic.
Although the price point was high for me as I was starting out, I love the quick tap mute/off on the top of the mic. I use it a lot when jumping out of Discord and quick pauses on my streams. It does light up brightly when turned on and you can even focus where the sound is coming from; so its good for podcasters or streamers as well.
I also use the Gain knob on the bottom of the mic a lot too. Gain, as we all know is what controls what we don't want people hearing in our streams; like keyboards, music from speakers, or little siblings/kids.
I've been using the mic for roughly 8 months now, and the only con I can seem to find, which really isn't a con but a pet peeve more or less, is the fact i forget I’m muted when i come back into stream because i cant see the light through my pop filter.
The cord is really long also, anyone using this out of the box should be able to enjoy the cord length on start up.
In conclusion, the mic is wonderful and I would buy it again and recommend it for anyone who’s looking for a quality mic for their broadcasts.
At this time i will give mic a 95/100 Rift Review score! Great Job to those over at HyperX!
